PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Newly formed T&R Independent Books is beginning the process of structuring itself in such a way that it will have the greatest opportunity for success in today's tough economy. Today's announcement of the creation of the Office of Company President is part of that necessary structuring. This new position will by its very nature put a face to the company.

With that in mind, Teresa L. Riddle has accepted the position of Company President (hereinafter called President) of T&R Independent Books. The new president brings an impressive resume with her that should serve her and the company well now and into the future.

Teresa was born and raised in Michigan, where she spent the greatest portion of her life. The daughter of an assembly line worker, she learned from him the importance of hard work and honesty. She also saw firsthand what a woman could do if she put forth the effort and was committed to success by watching her mother, the sole proprietor of her beauty shop. These were lessons she has never forgotten.

While she had a natural bent toward business, she also saw the need for God in her life and received Christ as her Savior as a child. Her relationship with God and the lessons she learned from her family prepared her for the next step in her professional career.

During the 1990s she both worked a full time job and studied at Midwestern Baptist College.  In 1995 her studious approach paid off and she received her BRE from Midwestern in 1995. But unsatisfied with that, she sought and received her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana Baptist University in 2000. She did her thesis on business economics especially as it related to the future.

She also brings with her corporate experience. Starting out as a part-time worker and later as a full time employee she gained much secretarial knowledge working for insurance companies. She followed that with secretarial work in Kmart World Headquarters working in the Legal Department.

Teresa is no stranger to owning her own business. She and her husband have been involved in home based businesses, including owning their own online bookstore for several years. Although the business was beginning to grow and show a profit the economy plus the need to take 24/7 care of her mother interrupted and they closed the business in 2009.  The online store gave her much valued experience in seeing both the work and the inner workings of a bookstore.

Teresa will be both the face of the company as its president and an active participant in the day-to-day operations. Among her other duties, she will be responsible for Media Relations, such as press releases and blogging. Another important part of Media will be setting up interviews for both she and her husband with newspapers, radio (including blot talk radio) and television. Although she will have oversight of these activities, her husband will be closely involved as well.

In addition, Teresa will have oversight of the company's marketing efforts. This involves setting up book tours, overseeing social media (Facebook & Twitter) and the shipping and handling of the books.
