Wives Behind the Badge Releases 2014 Children’s Scholarship Winners

Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is proud to announce the 2014 Children’s Scholarship recipients.  In first place, Miss Aimee Hite and in second place, Mr. Jeremiah Thompson.

A graduate of Rockford High School in Michigan, Aimee excelled with a 4.593 GPA while accumulating credits in advanced placement courses enough to begin her college career at Grand Valley State University with 40 credits.  Aimee wishes to study medicine with a goal of attending medical or PA school following graduation.  She is currently studying Biology and Spanish.

Aimee also excelled in sports as the Varsity Golf Captain and the Varsity Lacrosse Captain.  She plans to continue to play lacrosse at the University.  In addition, Aimee dedicated many hours to her community through her role as National Honor Society President by coordinating activities and volunteering for Special Olympics, God’s Kitchen and Special Treasures.  Aimee noted that “as the daughter of a teacher and police officer, I realize the importance in serving.”

Aimee is the daughter of Allen Hite of the Grand Rapids Police Department where he serves as a Major Case Detective

Jeremiah is a Windsor High School graduate in California who enjoyed playing football, basketball and swimming.  He maintained a 4.0 GPA and will attend William Jessup University studying Youth Ministry with the goal of becoming a youth pastor.

A volunteer within his community and his church, Jeremiah dedicated over 200 hours of service.  He also received many awards as a football player and swimmer, as well as receiving an award for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher while playing sports.

Jeremiah is the son of Dave Thompson, a Sergeant with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
