Follow on Google News | New videos feature Adult Day Programs in Mississauga Halton regionBy: Mississauga Halton CCAC “By viewing the diverse range of activities available at Adult Day Programs, such as crafts, exercise classes and music therapy, as well as special program resources, including foot care clinics and caregiver support groups, we hope patients and their loved ones feel more comfortable and confident when selecting a program to attend. After that, our care coordinators work to connect them to their choice program,”says Caroline Brereton, CEO, Mississauga Halton CCAC. “The Mississauga Halton LHIH is proud of the collaborative work in the creation of the Adult Day Program video series. The videos offer key information on respite care specific to the Adult Day Programs for patients, caregivers and families. The videos can be easily accessed through any computer,” adds Bill MacLeod, CEO, Mississauga Halton LHIN. Adult Day Programs are an opportunity for new friendships and fun. Friendly, trained experts lead exciting activities that get people moving and keep them smiling. When family members know their loved one is safe and having fun at an Adult Day Program, they can take time to complete personal tasks and spend time with friends as well. There are 10 providers, offering programs at 17 locations across the Mississauga Halton region. Diverse programming and language, as well as flexible scheduling ensure there is a program right for everyone. “My husband now makes things; he does things; he has so many new friends. The program has enriched his life and made it so that he probably will not have to go into a long-term care home,” says the wife of one Adult Day Program participant. “When I go to work, I am confident he is well taken care of at the program. I am so grateful to the program’s wonderful volunteers and staff,” she adds.
