TMT dealmakers meet in Warsaw to discuss Central and Eastern Europe M&A

Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Strategy leaders and heads of M&A from leading telecom, media and technology companies, financial institutions and advisory businesses are meeting in Warsaw on September 30 to assess new opportunities across the region.

Over 60 speakers have been announced for the TMT Finance & Investment CEE 2014 Conference, including leaders from Liberty Global, Orange, VimpelCom, Polkomtel and Telekom Austria, and 200 senior executives are expected to attend the event.

The TMT M&A Panel is one of the key sessions at the event with Sergey Plykin, Group Strategy Director, VimpelCom; Stanislaw Sawczyn, Managing Director, Rothschild; Roland Haidner, Head of M&A, Telekom Austria and Alex Evans, Managing Director TMT EME, Barclays Capital speaking in a session Chaired by John Fitzpatrick, Global Head of TMT M&A/Transactions, CMS, one of the most active TMT legal advisers.

“Mobile and cable related deal talk is picking up, with a number of regional operators looking at consolidation transactions and new acquisitions to drive revenue growth. Private equity investors are very active with Mid Europa appointing advisers to sell two telecom assets and KKR, Innova Capital and Cinven looking at increasing TMT exposure in the region. Privatisations and IPOs are also returning with Telekom Slovenia and Telekom Serbia among those first in line, while several cable IPOs are also now being considered,” he said.
