Hackfit Combines Fitness and Ingenuity in HealthMecca Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Calling all health-conscious techies, entrepreneurs, engineers and business people from all fields: the most active startup competition — Hackfit — is coming to Boulder this fall.

Unlike typical hackathons, Hackfit is a three-day fitness-infused startup competition for engineers, marketers and entrepreneurs interested in building health, fitness and digital sport technology apps and devices. Hackfit, a Boston-based startup, promises everything from rock climbing to biking sprinkled in between intense ideation and rapid prototyping sessions.

Hackfit will bring its series to 5 U.S. cities and empower hundreds of entrepreneurs in 2014, all on a mission to make the world a healthier place.

Hackfit Boulder has the potential to be one of the most exciting weekend events for the active professional community in America’s startup capital.  Beginning Nov. 7 and continuing through Nov. 9, Hackfit Boulder will be headquartered downtown at Galvanize where the collaboration will happen. Throughout the weekend, Hackfitters will code, brainstorm collaborate and take part in break time activities like biking and yoga.

“Boulder’s location at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and its intellectually minded community provide an ideal setting for Hackfit,” said Tim O’Shea, co-organizer of Hackfit Boulder.  “Being home to so many fitness-oriented professionals, Boulder offers many resources for Hackfitters not as readily available in other communities.
