SEM Link launches STEMport Parent Group Monthly Webinar

OAKLAND, Calif. - Aug. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link) through its Math and Science Career Academy STEMport Parent Group will launch its first monthly webinar on August 19 2014. The webinar, Parents as Partners: Supporting Your Child’s STEM education , will provide attendees with strategies for creating an environment that supports academic achievement and career exploration. The monthly webinars are for STEMport Parent group members only; the monthly membership fee is $10. In addition to access to the monthly webinars, STEMport Parent Group members get a monthly resource list via email. Educators and other professionals that are interested in STEM education are also invited to become a member of the STEMport Parent Group. The STEMport Parent Group also hosts a monthly Twitter chat, which takes place on the 1^st Tuesday of each month at 4:00-5:00 pm PST (7:00-8:00 pm EST/6:00-7:00 pm CST/5:00-6:00pm MST) with the hashtag #STEMport on SEM Link twitter page (@semlink). The next Twitter Chat will take place on Tuesday, September 2. “Our children succeed when the adults in their lives are equipped with tools and strategies to support their success” as stated by Ms. Tokiwa T. Smith, Founder and Executive Director. “The STEMport Parent Group provide several platforms for parents, educators and anyone else that is vested in STEM education to be equipped with these tools by learning from SEM Link staff and volunteers as well as each other”.
