Public To Meet World Town Crier Stars At Chester's Forum Shopping Centre

CHESTER, U.K. - Aug. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- MEMBERS of the public will have an opportunity to meet some of the contestants in Chester’s up-coming World Town Crier Tournament when all 24 of the competing criers descend on the city’s Forum Shopping Centre to meet fans and shoppers.

Town Criers from Germany, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Channel Islands and the USA, to name just a few, will descend on the Northgate shopping centre at 11 am  on Saturday August 23^rd to chat to members of the public and give onlookers a taste of their skills.

“The city will echo to the sounds of proclamations when some of the world’s finest Criers from ten nations get into their stride,” said David Mitchell, Chester’s own Town Crier, and organiser of the tournament. “Their visit to the Forum and will begin with a Ring of Bells after which the contestants will be free to chat to fans and onlookers.

“Chester has hosted this event on three previous occasions, in 2001, 2004 and 2010, so we are expecting a significant number of fans to attend and show their support.”

The Forum’s Centre Manager, Mr Lawrence Allen said: “We know how popular this event is with our shoppers and members of the public, so we were more than happy to part- sponsor it. We are obviously delighted that onlookers, including many of our customers, will be able to meet and greet the Criers and see them in action when they visit the Forum on the 23^rd.”
