Amerigroup Joins Nationwide Effort to Get Kids to Stay Active and Log One Million Minutes in Motion

ORLANDO, Fla. - Aug. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Amerigroup Florida president and CEO, Rosy Cozad, along with dozens of Amerigroup associate volunteers and community leaders joined the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida in Orlando for the Clubs’ Triple Play Million Minutes in Motion Tour, sponsored by the Amerigroup Foundation and Coca-Cola Company.

The tour is traveling from coast to coast, stopping in 20 cities, with the goal of getting thousands of Club kids to be active for one million minutes. The mobile tour is part of an effort to combat the growing rate of childhood obesity that is plaguing our nation. Organizers and sponsors are working together to encourage youth to engage in healthy, active lifestyles and to make a lifelong commitment to fitness. Amerigroup Florida took an additional step to inspire families to take charge of their health by bringing its mobile exam unit to the Orlando tour stop and offering free health exams to parents and guardians of participating children.
