Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Announces New ‘Poison, Murder & Mystery Cruise’

The Boudicca— the company’s 880-guest ship— will host cruisers with a never before seen offer created around secrecy and suspense. This unique sailing experience will depart from Rosyth (Edinburgh) on July 10th, 2015, and will have guests enchanted throughout the 16 night trip with theatrical thrills and murder mystery.
Guests will have the opportunity to take part in this great adventure as it unfolds onboard, while the Boudicca embarks upon a leisurely cruise to Leixoes, Funchal, Santa Cruz, Las palamas, Lisbon, and Newcastle. The intriguing ‘Poison, Murder & Mystery Cruise’ is a first for any cruise line, and is the result of a creative collaboration between Mr. Fred. Olsen Senior and The Duchess of Northumberland. This offering will also gain recognition by Guinness World Records as the largest participative ‘murder mystery’ event ever held on a cruise ship.
The passion for poisonous plants by both Fred.Olsen Senior and The Duchess of Northumberland is manifested throughout the experience, as the journey links the unique gardens of both enthusiasts. The Duchess says of the cruise experience, “I wanted to create a ‘theatre of poisons and poisoning’, and working with Fred. has allowed me to bring this desire to life aboard a cruise ship, where guests can sample something new, something different and something very special indeed!”
