MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - Aug. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- MARLBOROUGH, MA.  Employment Options, a human service agency which serves adults recovering from mental illness, released the following statement in response to the death of Robin Williams:

Executive Director Toni Wolf said, “The untimely passing of legendary actor Robin Williams is devastating to those who practice recovery in the mental health field each and every day.  Robin’s journey with depression highlights the fact that mental illness knows no boundary of class, race, income, or gender.  His incredible career demonstrates recovery exists, yet his loss showcases the struggles that one lives with on a daily basis.  As one of our members stated ‘if Robin Williams, who had everything, gave up the struggle, how am I going to make it?’

Wolf Continued, “As a community mental health leader, Employment Options wants to open its doors to ANYONE who is now struggling with their illness.  This is a time for all to come together and stay together!  As the wounds heal over the next few months, let us NOT forget our tears.  The need for continued ongoing funding and mental health awareness in our community and throughout the nation is essential.  We must reach out to those who experience the stigma and isolation of mental illness.”
