Ventura College Foundation adds staff to help with major and planned gifts
Fundraiser started her career as a regional manager for the Los Angeles Affiliate of the American Heart Association
In this position, King will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s fundraising program and building a solid donor base to support student scholarships, academic program enhancements, equipment and other needs that build student success. She will also identify, cultivate and steward major and planned gift donors in support of the Foundation’s mission.
“Anne has dedicated her career to assisting nonprofits reach the goals fundamental to their health and longevity by engaging donors on a deeper level,” said Norbert Tan, executive director of the Foundation. “As a longtime volunteer for many nonprofits, she relates to donors on many levels.”

The Thousand Oaks resident started her career as a regional manager for the Los Angeles Affiliate of the American Heart Association and has held several fundraising management positions for large organizations, including Volunteers of America, Trinity Washington University and American University.
As a volunteer, she helped launch the technology booster club and the computer lab for Wildwood Elementary School in Thousand Oaks, and was a founding board member of the Conejo Schools Foundation, the Conejo Unified School District’s fundraising arm.
From 2009-2012, King was the stewardship chair for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC) and now assists with HTLC’s capital campaign. King also advises United Parents in Camarillo.
The Foundation’s flagship programs include Textbook Lending, where students can borrow up to three textbooks to use for the entire semester; Ventura Promise Grant, covering the cost for students to attend their first two semesters at Ventura College tuition-free;
Established in 1983, the Ventura College Foundation provides financial support to the students and the programs of Ventura College to facilitate student success and grow the impact and legacy of Ventura College as a vital community asset.
