"The Bronx Meets Vienna" to Exhibit in Austria
An artistic juxtaposition of both The Bronx, New York and Vienna, Austria
New York City Department of Parks & Recreation recorded one of the highest guest count for one exhibit, people from around globe made a special trip to the Poe Visitor Center to catch The Bronx Meets Vienna.
Stubbings exhibited 24 unique black-and-white photographs producing an artistic juxtaposition of both The Bronx, New York and Vienna, Austria.
The photography exhibit highlighted the Bronx's architecture and cultural wealth. Austrian photographer Thomas Stubbings presented pictures he took of the borough—focusing on its buildings and people—alongside pictures of his native Vienna, dramatically illustrating the human emotions, the differences, as well as the similarities between two places across the globe.
This exhibition was supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum New York - A special Thanks to The Embassy of Austria, NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, NYC & Company, Welcome 2 The Bronx, The Culinary Lens, The New York Times, News 12 The Bronx, The Bronx Documentary Center, The Bronx Museum of The Arts, Bronx Mama, Morris Perk, The Bronx Free Press, The Opera House Hotel & BRONXVERSITY for helping support this great exhibit. Also a great special Thanks to Austrian Photographer Thomas Stubbings for taking the time to create such a beautiful and unique exhibit for The Bronx.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Thomas Stubbings works as self-employed photographer. He studies applied and artistic photography at the Prague Photography School.
