Orthodontist Donates Professionally Fitted Mouth Guards for 2nd Annual Mouth Guard Event

WINDSOR, Calif. - Aug. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Bernstein Orthodontics has hosted several mouth guard events this year to support local youth football teams in Sonoma County like the Windsor Knights and the Redwood PALGolden Bears. This is the second year the orthodontic practice has promoted its ‘Play It Safe’ Mouth Guard Program.

Whether in a field, on a court or on the ice, a mouth guard is the most important piece of equipment for both youth and adult athletes. Oral injuries are the most common type of injury sustained by children, teens and adults participating in sports. According to the American Dental Association, more than 200,000 oral injuries are prevented each year in the United States by sports mouth guards.

Bernstein Orthodontics understands the importance of mouth guards to protect the teeth and jaws of children engaging in sports. Their ‘Play It Safe’ Mouth Guard Program aims to educate on the importance of wearing mouth guards while supplying these children with properly fitted mouth guards so they can enjoy their activities safely.

Recently Bernstein Orthodontics hosted events for over 300 local athletes and three separate leagues looking to get a complimentary mouth guard with a professional fit.
