Free Workplace Wellness Opportunity for Inland Empire Employers

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Aug. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Riverside, CA – Inland Empire employers can discover firsthand the potential healthcare cost savings and productivity gains that result from an improved diet within their workforce.

The Necessary Nutrition Academy, a Riverside-based nutrition and wellness educational company is offering Inland Empire companies up to two free specialty nutrition classes per year. Each class is delivered by a highly trained expert who has had a profound personal experience using food and nutrition to improve the quality of their life.

“Healthy employees have more energy, confidence and clarity. Eighty percent of our health and well-being stems from what we put in our mouth,” said Robin Allen, Certified Nutrition Specialist. “I use to be overweight, pre-diabetic, tired and certainly less productive. I was guilty of making some of the biggest nutrition mistakes that most people make, which included consuming meals without a complete protein. Most meals include incomplete protein sources which is not useful for blood sugar stability and weight management.”

Citing World Economic Forum statistics, Allen said, “The return on investment can reach as high as 755 percent for companies that make wellness intrinsic to the company culture. The average savings every year is $700 per employee.”

Employers can select from a wide variety of classes offered by Necessary Nutrition Academy. Some of the topics include:

Classes last about 30 to 45 minutes. Employers may host a Necessary Nutrition Academy class for their employees during a lunch hour or staff meeting.

Participants in previous Necessary Nutrition Academy classes and programs have reported substantial health turnarounds. Virginia Nelson was able to cut her blood pressure medication dosage in half. “After just two weeks on the program, my blood pressure dropped 50 points,” Nelson said.

Debbie Kelley, a County of Riverside employee, said, “My cholesterol went down 36 points and my thyroid is all back in the normal range.”

“Our Workplace Wellness Initiative gives employers a free way to assess employee response to a wellness program and consider the benefits of ongoing nutrition support,” said Noel Edge of The Necessary Nutrition Academy.

Numerous employers have already taken advantage of the “workplace wellness” classes offered by Necessary Nutrition. Among them include multiple departments within the City and County of Riverside, Cal Baptist University, Parkview Hospital, The County of San Bernardino, Sysco Foods and many more.
