Christian Healing Center Returns from Honduras Healing Mission Trip
By: Daniel Murray
This June, 29 volunteers led by John and Susie Millinog (Mountain of Hope founders) from St. Peters arrived in Honduras to drill two new wells and minister to the village of Quince. One of the wells is to serve a large high school with 1,400 students. The school was completed but could not open until they had fresh water. Both wells were drilled successfully and now they supply fresh water to many. “This has been quite an amazing trip,” said Daniel Murray, founder and president of Christian Healing Center. “This year, for the first time, we led four young men to accept Jesus as their Savior. None of the young men had been going to church before this. One older man has started teaching the Bible on Wednesday evenings to the young men of the village. The first day we were in the village we prayed and 31 people were healed by Jesus through the power of prayer,” Murray added.
The Christian Healing Center partnered with The Mountain of Hope for this mission trip. Each year, Mountain of Hope sends a group of doctors, dentists, and nurse volunteers into San Pedro Sula to help God change the hope of this village. The missions are founded on the belief that God provides for every need, and that each person is a gift from god. The ministry has evolved over the years and now includes teaching children how to pray to Jesus to heal others. So far, 250 children have been taught how to pray to Jesus for healing using the words in the Bible. Murray said that it’s changing the village as the children tell their parents how Jesus healed their pains.
Murray and Elizabeth May from Alliance Church prayed for everyone that was in pain and their pain was healed by Jesus as they called on the promises of God for healing. Jesus healed backs and necks, as well as one man with one leg three inches shorter than the other. He was healed as the short leg came down to the same length. Twelve villagers received healing of shortened legs. Arthritis was also healed.
One man came to the medical clinic needing a liver transplant. He had just been in the hospital for 15 days. He was in a lot of pain and we asked Jesus for a creative miracle (see Ephesians 3: 20). We can have far more than we can ask or imagine! His countenance started to shine and his pain left. We believe that Jesus gave him a new liver. God’s Word promises healing and wholeness if we only believe.
Susie and John Millinog have also led missions to Honduras for the past 23 years. John and the people of St. Peters Church in Lake Mary built a Church in Quince first and then the village leaders came and begged John to bring a doctor to them because their children were dying.
One night John got down on his knees and asked God to send a doctor to help. The very next morning, Dr. Stephen Knight in Ormond Beach called and volunteered. Dr. Knight is the Medical Director for the clinic. Many lives have been saved because of his leadership.
