Lakewood College Gives Back to the Military Community
The program is also valuable to many staff members at Lakewood College. 17% of Lakewood Staff have served in the U.S. Military including the College’s President. Lakewood College has been awarded as a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs for the last four years and was recently named a Military Friendly School by Military Advanced Education for 2014. Currently 95% of the student population is comprised of Active Duty Military, Veterans, and Military Spouses.
“Having such a high population of military students, we wanted to do something that would show our support in other ways, not just in their education.” Jessica Regal, the Lakewood College Marketing Assistant says. “Military Spouses are often juggling so many things while their significant other is off protecting our country. To be able to take the time to thank their spouse and their family through a care package is something we hold near and dear to our hearts.”
Lakewood College invites you to nominate your spouse, child, parent or other deserving member of the Military for their Adopt-A-Soldier Program. Nominations must include a brief bio, photo, and reasons for your nomination. Lakewood College also asks that nominations include an address for timely delivery of the care package. You can send nominations to adoptasoldier@
