Aug. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan (DRCWM) is pleased to announce its inaugural event celebration of International Conflict Resolution Day on Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 7-9:30 pm at the City Flats Hotel Ballroom, 83 Monroe Center in Grand Rapids, Mich. Tickets are $30 per person.

The event's theme is 'Don't Worry, Be Happy!' and local personality and community activist, Tommy Allen, will host. Attendees will enjoy tasty tropical treats, a cash bar, 50/50 raffle, networking opportunities, and live music by the Zion Lion Reggae Band. Outstanding peacemakers will be recognized at this event.

The purpose of ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy!’ is to raise awareness of the DRCWM’s existence; the organization provides low- and no-cost mediation services to help people resolve disputes and restore relationships within and outside the court system. DRCWM serves seven Michigan counties: Kent, Ionia, Lake, Montcalm, Mecosta, Newaygo, and Osceola. Its services bring groups and individuals together to create their own solution for a win-win resolution in the workplace, schools, communities, and in the home.

DRCWM is part of a network of independent Michigan community dispute resolution centers. The 501(c)3 nonprofit's mission is to "bring peaceful resolution to conflict by providing expert and affordable mediation services." Information about the types of mediation offered may be found on the organization's website at http://www.drcwm.org.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. If interested, please visit the website or call 616.774.0121
