Sawgrass Ford to Support Broward Education Foundation’s Annual School Supply Drive

SUNRISE, Fla. - Aug. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Sawgrass Ford today announced that drop-off boxes are in its showroom and ready to accept donations for the Broward Education Foundations Annual School Supply Drive “Tools for Schools Broward – Helping Teachers Help Kids.”

“Education is clearly one of the paramount concerns facing our great nation,” said Sawgrass Ford President, David Menten.  “No one should be denied a quality education nor should they be denied the tools necessary to achieve one.  Just this past year this effort by the Broward Education Foundation “Last school year Tools for Schools Broward” distributed more than $700,000 in school supplies with each participating teach from the county’s poorest schools receiving more than $350 in free school supplies. Unfortunately, the average teacher in Broward still spends in excess of $1,000 in personal funds on school supplies each year.”

Menten said that no donation is too small.

“The drive is seeking the most basic supplies; composition books, filler paper, rulers, pencils, glue sticks, folders anything you can imagine a school child would require,” Menten stressed.

Sawgrass Ford is located at 14501 West Sunrise Blvd. one-half mile west of the Sawgrass Mills Mall.  It is open seven days a week.

“If you are at the Mall buying clothing or supplies for your child, buy a few extra and drop it off at the dealership,” added Menten.  “We are encouraging all of our employees to not only make a donation but have their child or children do so.  It’s a great life lesson.”
