Aug. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Root Canals are more popular with the American people than Congress, according to a national survey conducted by Public Policy Polling.

“I knew people didn’t like the idea of going to the dentist,” says Dr. Dorothy Anasinski of Dental Specialists of Niles P.C., “but I had no clue that we were more popular than the politicians in Washington.”

People really don’t like going to the dentist. Estimates indicate 30 million to 40 million of us don’t see a dentist each year because of anxiety and fear, according to the Colgate Oral and Dental Health Resource Center. Another survey of people who hadn’t seen a dentist for 12 months revealed that adults 24 years and older cited fear of pain as the most common reason.

Anasinski specializes in making her patients feel much more comfortable about their visit. “If you haven’t been visiting your dentist, you may not realize that with modern pain medications and the technology behind them, you will experience very little – if any – discomfort.”

“Our mission is to apply the ‘Golden Rule’ to dentistry,” says Dr. Anasinski. “We treat our patients the way we want to be treated – with compassion, integrity and a personalized program of pain management. We will listen to your needs, answer all of your questions and explain your options clearly.”

“We can’t do much about the way people feel about Washington, but we certainly know how to manage the natural pain that happens when we fix what’s going on with a patient’s teeth. One option even lets patients sleep through procedures. It’s a shame that can’t happen with the news.”
