Back2School Celebration and Concert | Giveaways and Prayer Inspire Students with Hope

CHICAGO - Aug. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Forest Park, IL – “Young people in the Chicago area have experienced too much violence and tragedy, and we want to bring families together with something positive and uplifting,” explains youth ministry leaders Pastor David Winston and his wife Niki, of GO HARD FOR CHRIST. Pastor David (as he’s known by the youth) is the son of Dr. Bill Winston, pastor and founder of Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois.

As host and sponsor of the Friday, August 15^th Back2School Giveaway Celebration & Concert, GO HARD FOR CHRIST plans to hand out more than just school supplies.  “We want to give out hope and encouragement for the upcoming school year, and some answers to life’s tough questions,” says Pastor David. “Young people are asking why so many of them are dying, and who cares about what is happening.”  (Living Word Christian Center recently hosted the funeral of eleven-year-old Shamiya Adams, killed last month by a stray bullet at a friend’s sleepover.

Students accompanied by a parent or guardian will receive a free Back2Schoolsupply-filled back pack while supplies last. Along with free food, free games and prizes, there will be plenty of exciting outdoor fun for the whole family, Friday August 15^th, from 3PM-6PM at Living Word Christian Center located at 7600 W. Pastor David also shared, “It’s a win-win for students and especially for parents on a tight budget. GO HARD FOR CHRIST inspires kids to bring God with them everywhere, even to school. I hope that parents will also encourage their young people to be a part of the many activities we do here throughout the year, because we’re helping to connect students with their God-given destinies.  The event ends with a free indoor concert featuring exciting musical performances by Chris Searcy and G3 starting at 6:00PM, followed by a Prayer of Blessing and Protection spoken over the students at the very end. We are helping to build the local community while building relationships.

Giveaway Celebration & Concert Checklist

ü  Arrive at 3PM sharp and students with a parent or guardian will receive a free school supply-filled back pack & t-shirt (on a first come first serve basis, while supplies last).

ü  Enjoy free food, snow cones, cotton candy and even free haircuts.

ü  Play in dunk tanks, bounce houses, foam party, 3on3 basketball tourneys, face painting and more, win prizes and even compete for a chance to play the money machine game.

ü  Enjoy free admission to an electrifying indoor concert featuring Chris Searcy and G3 starting at 6PM.
