Waukesha Choral Union Announces New Season
"The World Sings" to feature five concerts celebrating world culture
The five performances – including two identical holiday fares – are:
“One World, Many Voices” – a concert comprised of songs celebrating the various cultures that make up our world. Guest performers will be the Hartford Union High School Choir. Oct. 18, 2014 – 7:30 p.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 200 Richard St., Waukesha Wi 53189
“Joy To The World” – holiday music meant to perfectly begin the season. Two concerts. The first will be 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, WI 53186. The second will be 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at St. Catherine’s Church, W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066
“Messiah”- Handel’s beautiful sacred music is a spring holiday favorite. 3 p.m. March 29 at Carroll University’s Shattuck Auditorium, 218 N. East Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 Note that this is a free performance, supported annually through the generosity of the late Fred and JoAnn Portz.
“The World’s A Stage” – featuring music from Broadway and opera. 7:30 p.m., May 2 at Carroll University’s Humphrey Memorial Chapel, 238 N. East St., Waukesha, 53186
A season ticket package is discounted to $40 per adult, $32 for seniors/students and $10 for children under 12. Individual performance prices are $15 per adult, $13 per senior/student and $4 per child under 12.
