BOXFORD, Mass. - Aug. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Young entrepreneur Philip Marchese is looking forward to bringing a new level of care to the Essex County area with his new business, Home Helpers & Direct Link of the Northshore.

Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor, automated medication dispenser and vital signs monitoring units. Home Helpers & Direct Link of the Northshore serves most of Essex County.

Marchese earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Syracuse University, and then a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University. He spent his initial career working as an outpatient physical therapist at Baystate Physical Therapy. He then transitioned his career to Amedisys Home Health to help patients become safer in their homes and return to community participation.

“Determined to have a larger impact, I concluded that my physical therapy background and knowledge of community resources was a great foundation for operating a successful Home Helpers business. I realized I could help improve patient/family safety awareness and caregiver training to allow patients to safely stay in their homes longer. In-home services from Home Helpers & Direct Link provide individuals the assistance they need for improved safety, well-being, and quality of life,”Marchese said.

Although he’s not yet 30-year-old, Marchese and his wife Adrienne felt it was the perfect time to launch their own business.

“We haven’t started our family yet and we were in a position to make this work. I can throw my entire self into the business and we’re hoping, eventually, my wife can work with me full time. This is something we can launch and grow that will allow us to make a real impact on our community,” he said. “I’ve always gone above and beyond for my patients and I’m going to bring that to my business. I am always willing to put in the extra work needed to help people and make a difference in their lives.”

Home Helpers & Direct Link offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include companionship, laundry, light housekeeping, respite care, meal preparation and transportation as well as medication management and care management.

Each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety, and comfort of their own homes.

Marchese also is looking forward to creating a staff of excellent caregivers and getting involved with the local Council on Aging among other community organizations.

“I hold myself to the highest standards possible and I will hold my caregivers to those same standards. No one goes into home care just to make money – it’s about making a difference and an impact. You have to have a real passion for people and be willing to go the extra mile to make them feel their best,” he added.
