CAMARILLO, Calif. - Aug. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Walking into Mrs. Figs' Bookworm store is like walking into a place that feels like home. Connie Halpern, the owner, loves books and children so much! We all have great fun and never want to leave. We have special plans for kids, books, crafts, and snacks to while away the afternoon! What a delight to share some special time together.
Alva will be reading her books, signing, and selling them so you can take them home to read over and over again. If you have never visited Mrs. Figs' Bookworm you are in for a real treat!

A bit about Alva, besides being an award-winning children's author, she is the President of Reading Is Fundamental of Southern California and helps children to build home lilbraires with free books they receive from Title 1 schools.

She is also part of the Angels of the Alliance from the Civis Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks, California and Vice President to the Kids and the Arts Program, which provides free live theatre performances to Title 1 schools in Ventura County.
