The National Graduate School of Quality Management names new Dean of Enrollment Management
Falmouth, Mass., August 1, 2014 – The National Graduate School of Quality Management (NGS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Senthil Kumar, EDBA of Rhode Island, as the Dean of Enrollment Management. “We are pleased to announce the completion of our nationwide search and Dr. Kumar has been selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to serve as the founding Dean of Enrollment Management at NGS,” President and CEO, R. Clinton Miner, Ph.D.announced today.
Dr. Kumar brings over twelve years of enrollment management experience to NGS. He is a well-regarded expert and demonstrated success in university recruitment, admissions, strategic marketing and enrollment planning. Dr. Kumar holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.B.A. in Finance from Oklahoma City University and an Executive D.B.A from the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Kumar will join the President, Chief Financial Officer, and Academic Dean as a member of the School's Executive Leadership Team to help lead the school's growth. Dr. Kumar will direct all areas of enrollment management and will have direct oversight of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral admissions including the college’s marketing & communications.
Most recently, Dr. Kumar served as Director of Recruitment & Training for university admissions at Johnson & Wales University, where he produced multiple years of record enrollment, increasing international undergraduate and graduate enrollment to the highest levels in school history. Previous position at Johnson & Wales University includes Director of Asian Relations and prior appointments included his service at his Alma Mater, Oklahoma City University, as Admissions Advisor for the Meinders School of Business.
NGS President and CEO, Dr. Miner said, “I am excited to have Dr. Kumar join our leadership team and firmly believe we have found the right person for the job. We have set our strategic direction in the 2017 Strategic Plan and are undertaking a bold and compelling Transformation Initiative that positions the college for continued success. Dr. Kumar will focus on the vision, strategic direction and leadership to develop NGS’s strategic enrollment management framework as the institution responds to an increasingly challenging economic landscape and an intensely competitive higher education environment.”
Dr. Kumar’s family includes his wife, Selvi, who is a Nurse Practitioner at University Surgical Associates (an affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University), and their two children, Theenash, 14 and Trissha, 10.
