Renovations Completed at the William Sauntry Mansion
The William Sauntry Mansion in Stillwater, MN has completed major renovations to two of its six bed and breakfast rooms.
According to Tom Lynum, "the Beltram room was 'retired' with approximately half of its square footage going to a brand new room, William. The remainder of space from the Beltram was added to the Joseph room, expanding its square footage allowing for the addition of an awesome, antique, stained glass king bed imported from Germany."
Built in 1881, the spacious home features Queen Anne style elements throughout. Ten fireplaces, parquet floors, original chandeliers, painted canvas ceiling, cherry and oak woodwork, many stained glass windows, and decorated in the late Victorian style.
You’ll feel like you’ve taken a romantic step back in time at the magnificent Sauntry Mansion, while being pampered by modern luxuries. The William Sauntry Mansion is Stillwater's only Bed and Breakfast listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
All guest rooms of the William Sauntry Mansion feature fireplaces, queen or king beds, private baths (all with double whirlpools), free wireless Internet access, ipod connections, and CD sound systems.Three of the six rooms (LaFuegy, William and Joseph) also have Swedish Tylo Steam Showers. "I don't know of any other B&B in the US which has these Tylo units", Lynum said, "once the guests use them they are hooked, it's a really neat shower".
A delicious four course gourmet breakfast is served daily to guests.in the home's original dining room table at 9:00 a.m.. "All of the meals at the Sauntry are homemade from scratch," said Lynum. Meal planning and purchasing the freshest ingredients available locally is always a top priority for this conscientious couple.
