NEW YORK - July 31, 2014 - PRLog --, the leading trends-spotting website, is reporting a trend in new efforts to measure the previously unmeasurable.

“The trend is all about answering previously unanswerable questions,” says a spokesperson. “There is so much we don’t know about our bodies, the world, society, you name it. Creating ways of measuring and finding answers is a massive step.”

The trend is focused on developing wearable technology that helps answer important questions about body productivity. There are headbands to measure brain activity, shirts that measure heart rate and other workout vitals, and cell phone attachments that measure blood oxygen levels. The wearable trend is even expanding to pets, where dogs are suddenly the models for brainwave readers and fitness monitors.

But body processes aren’t the only thing being measured here. The small Asian country of Bhutan has created a general happiness index as a way of understand the general mood of its people. Plus, there are new efforts all of the time to measure the quality of air, water, and other natural resources.

“Developers are determined to use technology to help understand the vagaries of the world,” says the spokesperson. “Technology is advanced enough and portable enough to generate the necessary information needed to provide answers. Whether this information is accurate or useful is unclear, but having it available is a huge step.”
