Action for Sick Children’s Dental Playbox to “Star” In Stockport’s National Playday

STOCKPORT, U.K. - July 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Action for Sick Children could become the star of the show at Stockport’s National Playday event next week (Wednesday August 6th) when the national charity’s ‘Dental Playbox’ puppets give youngsters an action-packed run-down of their fun route to dental care.

The Torkington Park, Hazel Grove event – part of the National Playday initiative – will include a bouncy castle, a climbing wall, a zip wire and a giant sandcastle as well as sports and games to name just a few of the fun attractions available between 11 am and 4pm.

“However, the participation of the Dental Playbox team from Action for Sick Children’s Stockport HQ, will give those children attending the sessions some basic but valuable dental care tips from which they will benefit for years to come,” said the charity’s Chief Executive Val Jackson.

“The Dental Playbox, which uses child-friendly tactics and a box of fun items to engage youngsters, enables them to understand the importance of good oral hygiene and encourages them to try to take good care of their teeth.

“Our teams have been working with groups of children across the North West for the last few years and we have been delighted with the results of their efforts. In fact the Dental Playbox initiative has been so successful that it has attracted the attention of dental professionals throughout the country.

“We are obviously delighted to have the opportunity of bringing the Dental Playbox to Stockport’s National Playday and we are convinced the youngsters who participate will love it.”
