HURRICANE, Utah - July 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The Diamond Ranch Academy of Utah is pleased to announce the addition of a new equestrian center on the school campus. The center is 220 by 110ft, featuring an indoor/outdoor arena, room for 20 horses, and skylights for night rides. The academy currently houses 10 horses in the center with fully landscaped grounds, a fire pit, and a tac shed full of riding gear for students. The center has been added to the campus as an additional therapeutic resource for students. Diamond Ranch Academy residents can now enjoy their time in the equestrian center while supplementing the therapeutic benefit they gain from other school programs.

School officials attribute their reasoning for this new addition to the therapeutic benefits of equine therapy. Experts note that equine therapy is an amazing tool in working with children and teens who struggle with attachment disorders, aggression, depression, and anxiety. This is because students learn to better manage emotions and set effective boundaries through building relationships with animals. The interpersonal skill they develop with horses during equine therapy then translates to relationships with family members, friends, coworkers, etc.

Diamond Ranch Academy is excited to see how this additional therapeutic activity contributes to the success of their students. The center contributes to the academy’s efforts to create a safe, comfortable learning environment for troubled teens.
