NBA Player to give scholarships to Two Lucky Social Media followers
Travis Outlaw gives two lucky social media followers a scholarship of $1,000 through Instagram contest.
Outlaw is the first professional basketball player from Starkville, MS drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in 2003. In 2005, the city of Starkville declared the 4th Saturday in August as “Travis Outlaw Day”. For ten years, Outlaw has given a day filled with food, prizes, and entertainment as a way to say thank you to Starkville. To celebrate ten years of community involvement, the scholarship contest is looking for the best Instagram video detailing why Outlaw should award he/she with the scholarship. The videos are to be creative and use the hash tag #OutlawFundMe for an entry.
The contest begins on August 1, 2014 and ends on August 20, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. Any entries submitted after that time will be disqualified. Travis and the Travis Outlaw Day Committee acknowledge the academic achievements along with the creative side of students.
