Momentum Environmental Unveils Next Generation Stormwater Treatment Device

BLAINE, Minn. - July 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Minnesota start-up company, Momentum Environmental (Momentum), has completed development of The Preserver™, its flagship product.  The Preserver™ is intended to be installed in new or existing storm sewer structures to remove and retain sediment and floatable pollutants like gas, oil and trash from stormwater.  The Preserver™ will be used by project owners who need to meet stormwater pollutant removal requirements and infrastructure managers who need to save money on expensive stormwater pond maintenance.   Momentum will begin marketing The Preserver™ in Minnesota and plans to expand sales nationwide in following years.

The idea behind The Preserver™ is straightforward: trap pollutants in existing stormwater infrastructure upstream of ponds, lakes, rivers and streams where they are out of site and can be easily removed before they make a negative impact.   Momentum believes The Preserver™ boasts many advantages over other devices on the market that claim to perform this function.

“The Preserver™ is simpler, easier to install and maintain, and a fraction of the price of other devices,” said Dan Murphy, President.  “These advantages are a testament to the tremendous amount of work we put into The Preserver™ during the research and development phase.  While many other products were developed on paper, we used a practical, laboratory based trial-and-error approach to come up with the best possible design for The Preserver™.”

In a resource conservation effort, the primary components of The Preserver™ are made from 100% recycled plastic, and the production scraps are even recycled into more Preserver™ components.  Momentum is also dedicated to supporting other small, local businesses by sourcing all of The Preserver’s components from small businesses located within Minnesota.
