How Flight Volunteers are Saving Lives: New Program launches for transporting rescued dogs

How travellers can help save a life on their next trip overseas.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - July 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Vancouver, BC- The next time you book a flight to Thailand take a second to think about the good you could be doing for an animal on your way back. Soi Dog Canada has launched a new program to recruit everyday travelers in helping to bring dogs back to homes in Canada where their adoptive parents are eagerly awaiting them.

“There is NO cost to these passengers. The foundation handles all of the pre-flight arrangements. Trained representatives bring the dogs to the airport, meet with the passengers, and check the dogs in as part of their “baggage” allowance. At the end of the flight, they are met by the dogs’ adoptive families.” Says Candace Cornock, a volunteer lead representative for Soi Dog Canada, a non-profit support group of Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand.

By acting as flight volunteers, travelers are literally the tickets to new lives of freedom, safety, and love for a chosen few whose old lives were marked by cruelty, deprivation, and despair.

Candace is appealing to those passengers flying on booked tickets with Air France, Delta, EVA, Emirates, JAL, KLM, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Qatar, Swiss Air and Thai Airways.

Founded in 2013 to support  Soi Dog Foundation, which recently celebrated its historic 10thanniversary, Soi Dog Canada is comprised of volunteers committed to raising public awareness about the plight of dogs in Thailand and to raising funds for  Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary located in Phuket, Thailand.

Their mission includes helping  Soi Dog Foundation reduce the country’s stray dog population through their ambitious spay/neuter program, working to abolish the illegal dog meat trade between Thailand and its neighbours, and finding loving adoptive homes in Canada for those dogs rescued from near death and restored to good physical and mental health.
