Follow on Google News | Award Winning Alpenrose Stadium To Host 2014 Little League Softball World SeriesBy: Alpenrose Dairy For the 21st consecutive year, the Little League Baseball International Board of Directors at their Annual Meeting, unanimously approved Alpenrose Dairy in Portland, Oregon as the site for the 2014 Little League Softball World Series the week of August 7-13. The baseball/softball fields located on the Alpenrose grounds are in first-rate condition and have been in use since Henry Cadonau, the Founder of Alpenrose Dairy, built them for his grandchildren over 58 years ago. In 2012, at the Alpenrose Stadium, Mike Hebrard and the crew at Athletic Field Design won the STMA Softball Field of the year for 2012 Little League World Series. “Alpenrose Dairy started hosting the Little League World Series in 1994 and we are proud to keep that tradition going today,” said Carl Cadonau Jr., President of Alpenrose Dairy. “It’s part of who we are; as a locally owned company and members of the community. Promoting healthy choices is part of the Alpenrose brand and we are happy to support these young athletes.” Teams begin arriving Tuesday August 5th and will celebrate the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.Games start August 7th at 10am and run through to the World Championship on August 13. Each day features between 4-5 games with the first starting at 10:00 a.m. and the last at 7:00 p.m. Select games played on the 11th-13th will be broadcast on ESPN 2 and ESPN 3.
