NEW YORK - July 22, 2014 - PRLog -- The Midnight Slander will be a featured guest on The Jimmy Star Show live radio show hosted by King of Cool Jimmy Star along with Cool Man About Town Ron Russell and Hollywood Vixen Deidra Sarego to discuss their new album "The Long Way Home", their new single "Runaway"  and the entertainment industries at large. The Midnight Slander, founded in Charleston SC and relocating to Cleveland, OH, plays a mix of southern rock, piano pop, and funk that ensures for a great listen. Our music brings to light many influences; from the lyrical storytelling of country, to melodies influenced by pop and rock, to danceable airtight grooves evolving from funk. We’ve managed to bring together the music, experiences, and stories of three people who only ever wanted to play for anyone who would listen. We feel that there is a long and exciting road ahead; where it goes we don’t know. To us it’s important that we don’t pave that road, rather, let the road pave itself.

Two friends and former bandmates, Mike Gray (drums/keyboard) and Al Rodriguez (bass) roadtripped 13 hours to Charleston to meet up with lead singer and guitarist, Dave Conner. In one weekend, The Open Road EP, the band's first release, was written and recorded. In the two years following, the band has operated across hundreds of miles, traveling to write, record, and play shows. In 2013 the band was signed on independent record label Spectra Records, and will be releasing their first full length record, "The Long Way Home" this fall. Lead singer/guitarist Dave Conner relocated to the Cleveland area this year, and the trio looks forward to bringing their exciting, entertaining, and unique blend of southern rock to as many people as possible.
