LSN enhances data network availability with a major fiber optic network build into the Yakima area

YAKIMA, Wash. - July 21, 2014 - PRLog -- LSN, a telecommunications company local to the Pacific Northwest, recently completed their first fiber build into the Yakima Valley. Construction on the network, which started in spring 2012, was completed around the same time as the Tri Cities build, in late 2013.

Expansion into the Yakima Valley area is part of LSN’s long-term goal of bringing the same high-speed, reliable networks that big metropolitan areas enjoy to everyone. Other telecommunications companies tend to bypass smaller, out-of-the-way areas in favor of bigger markets and major interstate routes. This creates a gap known as the broadband divide, in which smaller communities are left with limited networking options that are often not reliable.

LSN has reach in every Oregon county and has already invested over $25 million in Washington infrastructure. In addition to Yakima, the company has built network infrastructure in the Tri Cities, Longview, Tacoma, Spokane, and Seattle communities.

During the peak in constructing this latest phase of the LSN deployment approximately 250 direct and indirect jobs were supported.
