Hankinson Group Continue to Reduce Co2 Emissions

By: Hankinson Painting Group
July 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Hankinson Painting Group are very focussed on reducing their environmental impact.

ISO 14001 2004 is a standard for Environmental Management. Hankinson Painting Group has been accredited to this standard by external auditors, since July 2007. This means that the standard helps the Group continue to protect the environment, prevent pollution and improve their overall environmental performance

Road transport contributes about one fifth of the EU’s total emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2, the main greenhouse gas).  CO2 emissions from road transport increased by nearly 23% between 1990 and 2010.  Transport is the only major sector in the EU where greenhouse gas emissions are still rising.

We are very pleased to report that during 2013 the Group produced 60,000 global tones less CO2 than in 2012 through improved driving techniques.  We are continually working to improve this.

Some of the top tips we have passed on to our drivers include:-

Accelerating slowly and smoothly
Driving within the speed limit
Maintaining a steady speed
Anticipating your stops and start

We ensure all our vehicles are regularly serviced, maintained and running efficiently and encourage drivers to check their tires are properly inflated.
