-- There are times when a story inspires – happiness, motivation, intrigue and mysticism! Normally tales of struggles where people rise like a Phoenix from the ashes overcoming obstacles and adversity are seen in movies. The plotline is typical where individuals succeed at their goal achieving their dreams at any cost after overcoming obstacle after obstacle. Just like the plot of the next block buster hit being released at a theatre near you, this happens all the time at L.I. Ninjutsu Centers! Over two decades ago - Shihan Allie Alberigo opened martial art schools on Long Island, N.Y. to share his knowledge and teach the classical art of the Ninja. Yes, you read that right – the ninja are alive and exist here on Long Island.
Every year like a fine wine students finally reach their prime and are tested for their black belt. At L.I. Ninjutsu Centers Shihan Allie has an amazing stable of upcoming students who are on the verge of attaining their black belts every year. These students range from 10 years old on up to adults and the one common denominator is they have all been training for a minimum of 7 years, some as long as 13.
You see in Shihan Allie’s – L.I. Ninjutsu Centers, rank is a privilege not a right and it has to be earned and takes extreme dedication every step of the way. On a Sunday July 13th
, 2014 these amazing students will tested their skills, ability and tenacity as they underwent one of the most grueling weeks of their lives. Starting with a physical exam where they have to run 4 miles, do 1000 jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, bends and thrust and a variety of wind sprints onto the actual test held on Sunday. Sunday they performed all of the moves they have learned over the last 7 or so, ending up sparring, and grappling for hours. The good news is “if they can do this, most other things in their life will seem easy!” Allie Alberigo Says.
This wright of passage has become a staple in the culture of L.I. Ninjutsu Centers and helps to continue the legacy that Allie Alberigo Shihan Started over 23 years ago.
