-- Talented but lesser known bands accustomed to crashing on friends' couches when playing a gig in a faraway city are about to get a break. And gone will be the days of their loading into a wheezing van to make the cross-country trip to said gig. Crowdfunding on indiegogo.com will be engaged to kick off this nightclub company (https://www.indiegogo.com/
, which, originally having operated in Austin, Texas, will take its SXSW (South By Southwest) roots into ten major cities in the U.S. by opening a club in each city which closely follows its design from Austin's Sixth Street entertainment district. Emphasis will be on the careers of the bands as they gain in popularity, with bookings to the ten locations established from the company's in-house booking office. Transportation by air and ground travel will be provided to the bands, and they will will lodge in dormitory-style accommodations at each club location for the length of their performance with meals provided to them from the club's kitchen. Heavy equipment for the bands' performance will be provided at all ten locations. The physical appearance of each club location will include indoor and outdoor seating, huge rooftop decks, balcony and mezzanine seating and an attractive site location with a pleasing view, such as a bayfront or nearby mountains, depending on the particular city. Bands will be under contract for 24 months rather than for much longer periods so that they can, hopefully, be released to national or international fame. The bands' 24-month agreement may be extended if the band so desires. Many contributors on indiegogo.com will be offered perks for as long as three years which admit groups of six to any club location along with other offerings at each location. Such perks are, of course, part of the operational procedure on indiegogo.com, one of the most prominent of the crowdfunding websites.
