HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - July 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Atlantic Duct Sealing announced today a technologically-advanced new weapon to aid both home owners and builders in the fight against high energy costs.  AEROSEAL duct sealant is a breakthrough technology designed to improve heating system efficiency and save consumers money – as much as $850 a year on heating and cooling costs.

“Consumers are seeing higher heating bills as a result of the long winter cold, and AEROSEAL can help stop the bleeding” explains AEROSEAL spokesperson Keith King. “The patented Aeroseal process is the most beneficial improvement a homeowner can make that they do not yet know about. Aeroseal is the most effective and viable method of sealing the ductwork in residential homes and commercial buildings. The process is one of the easiest ways to improve energy efficiency and cut expensive energy bills, improve home comfort and air quality.”

King says the process was developed with partial funding from the U.S. Department of Energy and the EPA. AEROSEAL is a duct sealant applied as an aerosol mist that is driven through the interior of a home or commercial duct system. The mist finds the thousands of leaks that typically plague a forced air duct system. The mist bonds to leaky areas, forming a permanent seal. Studies by the EPA have found AEROSEAL to be 95% effective at sealing air ducts – a result that could save home owners huge amounts on their heat bills, improve furnace and heat pump efficiency and add another selling feature for home builders.

“AEROSEAL was selected by This Old House Magazine as one of the Top 100 Best New Products,” said King. “It is a significant new energy savings solution for home owners. And it’s an excellent product for builders to consider helping them achieve their LEED, Greenhouse and EnerStar rating on new home builds.”

Atlantic Duct Sealing recently donated a seal to the Byrony House Dare to Dream Prize Home. The results of the Aeroseal technology on the home was impressive and significant. Says King.
