By: Gwen Frostic Prints On the 50th anniversary of the studio’s opening, the event will be a celebration of Gwen’s life and work. Food, raffles, sales, auctions and much more will be available for the sole purpose of restoring the building, which hasn’t been renovated since Gwen Frostic built the beloved art studio in 1964. The business is in great peril, as the roof continues to cave in, causing horrific water damage and disarray. Although Gwen Frostic Prints has continued running for all visitors to enjoy, funds are needed to restore the building properly. Full details regarding the designs for the brand new roof and rear property will be available online and in the studio. ABOUT GWEN FROSTIC Sara Gwendolyn Frostic built her beloved art studio in 1964, where she became one of America’s foremost nature inspired artists. She carefully carved the designs of nature into linoleum block to be printed by 19th century Heidelberg letter presses. Gwen continued her craft well into her nineties, even after being told she would never walk, talk, or write due to her early diagnoses of Polio. Gwen passed away in 2001, and everyone at Gwen Frostic Prints is on a mission to make sure her lifelong legacy continues.
