Techsil introduce BJB's new Special FX grades to the UK Market!

The BJB product launch team are working in overdrive at the moment, bringing a wide array of solutions to the market. Below we look at a couple of the new ranges available which are causing the most excitement!

ALCESTER, U.K. - July 17, 2014 - PRLog -- We have lost track of the amount of times we’ve been asked for a product that is fast, easy to pour and pigmentable in a variety of colours. Thankfully the new TC products solve all of these points and more! Imagine pouring a translucent, easy to pigment product that has low viscosity, great impact, is 1:1 mix ratio by volume and available with either a 3 minute or 7 minute work time. And as with all of BJB products, this quick ‘demould’ range is obtainable in a range of Shore Hardnesses.

TC-860 A/B   60 SH. D (3-3.5 minute work time)

TC-861 A/B   60 SH. D (7-8 minute work time)

TC-867 A/B   65 SH. D (3-3.5 minute work time)

TC-868 A/B   65 SH. D (7-8 minute work time)

TC-873 A/B   70 SH. D (3-3.5 minute work time)

TC-874 A/B   70 SH. D (7-8 minute work time)

TC-875 A/B   75 SH. D (3-3.5 minute work time)

Moving over to the fast cast systems, the recently launched F-1 series has some impressive new additions, bringing the lowest shore hardness now available down to just 5 Shore A, leaving the top of the range at 95 Shore A. The physical properties of these new flexible materials are extremely high and have been receiving some extra attention in the R & D department.

SC-22 is BJB’s new 3rd component softening agent. The Tech Department have been testing it by adding various percentages to the F-105 (5 shore A) & F-115 (15 shore A). As an example of their experiments, they found by adding 200% of SC-22 to F-105 the product took on a ‘squishy’ feel and look that was likened to that of a Jellyfish.

With this incredible ability to adjust the softness, our minds start to imagine the endless possibilities these grades now open up in the Special F/X and Medical Training industries along with many more. We have found the harder F range products are already proving extremely popular within film prop-making industry and are excited to see the reaction these additions will bring.

F-105 A/B     5 SH. A (5-10 minute work time)

F-115 A/B   15 SH. A (5-10 minute work time)

F-116 A/B   15 SH. A (3-5 minute work time)

F-125 A/B   25 SH. A (5-10 minute work time)

F-126 A/B   25 SH. A (3-5 minute work time)

F-131 A/B   30 SH. A (3-5 minute work time)

Running alongside the F-1 range, BJB have also introduced a medium-cast collection, the M-1 range. These products offer the same shore hardnesses as the F-1 range, but come with a longer work time of between 10-20 minutes.
