PHOENIX - July 17, 2014 - PRLog -- With summer drawing to a close soon, we are quickly approaching the time when children will be returning to school.  For many families the current economy has affected their finances and created additional financial burden leaving them struggling to provide their children with the most basic back-to-school supplies.  Kids often disconnect when they don’t have the adequate tools to supplement their learning and promote achievement.  When it comes to getting ready for school, teachers often say something as small as a pencil or pen can make all the difference.

In this time of great need, The Checkered Flag Run Foundation is pleased to announce the second annual Phoenix Tools 4 Schoolon Saturday, July 26th, 2014 at Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles, 1220 S. Central Avenue in Phoenix from 6-9 a.m.  With this program, the Checkered Flag Run Foundation provides educationalresources that impactunderservedstudents. According to Alan “AP” Powell, Founder, Checkered Flag Run Foundation“access to quality educationalopportunities ensures the investment of every student getting to cross the “finish line.”

During this event, 2,000 Phoenix area K-8 students will receive school supplies providing them with the necessary tools to begin the school year ready to learn and equipped to succeed.  Additionally, Breakfast will be provided to the students receiving supplies.  School supplies will be given away on a first come, first serve basis, so please plan to arrive early.
