Pacific Chorale Names Snell & Wilmer Partner Rick McNeil as Chairman of the Board
“Rick McNeil brings extensive legal and business experience to this pivotal role, at a time when we are recruiting more business executives to our Board of Directors,” said Elizabeth Pearson, President and CEO of the organization. “What’s more, he grew up in a musical family and is not only knowledgeable about our art form, but also a big fan of it.”
Founded in 1968, Pacific Chorale is internationally recognized for exceptional artistic expression, stimulating American-focused programming, and influential education programs. Pacific Chorale presents a substantial performance season of its own at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Orange County, California, and is sought regularly to perform with the nation’s leading symphonies. Under the inspired guidance of Artistic Director John Alexander, Pacific Chorale has infused an Old World art form with California’s hallmark innovation and cultural independence, developing innovative new concepts in programming and expanding the traditional concepts of choral repertoire and performance.
McNeil has over 25 years of experience representing businesses in the defense, aerospace, chemical, energy, waste disposal, manufacturing, food processing, printing, dry cleaning, real estate development and other industries against environmental claims. He has litigated environmental cost recovery (including CERCLA), CEQA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA and state common law actions, as well as toxic tort cases, environmental insurance actions and environmental criminal matters. McNeil has defended parties in cases involving federal Superfund sites, groundwater contamination, product liability and Proposition 65. He also counsels clients in air quality, energy, climate change, water quality and hazardous waste compliance.
