NYC Now Knows How to Runway the Real Way, Thanks to Catherine Schuller and Dede Allure

Dede Allure, the Very First Plus Size Designer to Show in LA Fashion Week, Brought Her Latest Curvy Couture Collection to NYC and it was REAL.

NEW YORK - July 15, 2014 - PRLog -- New York City, NY, July 14, 2014 -- Dede Allure, the plus size fashion designer who is quickly becoming known as the "Curvy Coco Chanel" thanks to her classic, timeless couture pieces, blew the real runway away at the Yotel Hotel, located at 570 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036 on June 21st.

Catherine Schuller, plus size pioneer and founder of Runway the Real Way, LLC event production company, enthusiastically embraced having plus size fashions as part of her weekly show, which always features up-and-coming Indie designers and performers like Melba Moore, American disco, R&B singer and actress. "It has long been a dream of mine to build an ongoing, NYC-based event celebrating diversity, aptly named 'Runway the Real Way', and share my good fortune of being the Fashion Curator at the prestigious Yotel Hotel during the Saturday brunch with other like-minded fashion devotees.  It was an added perk to expand it this week into a platform to showcase performers and have Melba Moore there debuting her new music during the fashion show!"

All of Dede's stunningly curvaceous models wore her creations with grace and poise, especially Cher Rue, actress and talk show host best known for The Cher Rue Show, addressing everyday people and things pertaining to the plus size community, and Patricia Dodson, the recently crowned "Ms. Curvaceous Boston" at The Next Big Thing pageant, hosted by Escape Image Consulting.

About Dede Allure: Headquartered in North Reading, MA, Denise Gaeta (AKA Dede Allure) creates timeless, classic pieces designed to caress a woman's every curve with elegance. A former plus size model, Dede saw huge gaps in the plus size industry and took matters into her own hands to fill those voids by including unique features, such as built-in undergarments, in many of her designs. Along with her signature black diamond jewelry, Dede Allure clothes are manufactured to withstand the test of both time and the ever-evolving fashion industry by being manufactured with the highest standards.

"I absolutely refused to compromise on my standards." Dede states vehemently. "I literally spent an entire year searching the globe to find manufacturers that could live up to my expectations. If a woman is going to have these clothes for 20 years, they had better last for 20 years!"

Dede's personal quest is to show young girls and women that beauty does indeed come in all shapes and sizes, evidenced by her reign as Ms Massachusetts Plus America 2014. As Ms Massachusetts Plus America, she is also dedicated to raising awareness for Aleppo Shriners Children's Transportation Fund, a collaboration of 22 pediatric hospitals in the US, Canada, and Mexico that provides free care for patients suffering from debilitating conditions such as severe burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lips and palates.

About Runway the Real Way: Created by Catherine Schuller, this is a multi-cultural weekly fashion extravaganza at the Yotel Hotel in New York City featuring all sizes, all shapes, all ages, all genders, all heights, all ethnicities, all orientations, nationalities, and persuasions walking simultaneously on an “inclusive catwalk” where the latest trend is not the clothing so much as the models. Created as a backlash to fly in the face of the "one-size-fits-none" mentality perpetually dominating the fashion scene, this innovative integration concept brings everyone together with an array of models wearing an ever-changing, weekly rotation of indie designs from around the city, the nation, and the globe. The variety of looks is forging a new direction which many have described as “refreshing and unique.”  The goal of Runway the Real Way is aspirational; to make everyone feel that fashion is accessible and on a level playing field where everyone can see themselves celebrated and appreciated for who they are and what they individually represent to the world.
