Follow on Google News | A New Way for Employers to Encourage Proper NutritionAbsolute Recreation Management launches the Everybody Eats Nutrition Challenge, an Employer-Sponsored Health Initiative
By: Absolute Recreation Management An employer-sponsored, interactive online program, Everybody Eats encourages participants to log on to a web-based platform and record the number of fruit and vegetable servings they consume each day. The challenge is highly educational – each week, participants are given educational content and weekly goals based on a different aspect of nutrition. Participants can also share recipes, tips and encouragement with colleagues through an online chat feature. “We believe that the key to encouraging proper nutrition is education. With so many food choices out there, it’s tough to know exactly how or why to eat right,” said ARM Director Dave Miller. “That’s why Everybody Eats’ weekly topics cover everything from how antioxidants and phytonutrients work to the healthiest cooking methods to sneaking veggies into kids’ meals. The goal is for participants to gain the knowledge and motivation that will foster healthy eating habits for life.” ARM developed Everybody Eats in response to client interest and feedback. Providence Health & Services, a long-time ARM client, was the first to implement the challenge on June 16, 2014. Clackamas County began the challenge on July 14th. “Our walking and fitness challenges have been a huge success, and Everybody Eats now gives our clients a chance to round out their health promotion campaign with a strong nutritional initiative,” About ARM Headquartered in Portland, OR, Absolute Recreation Management (ARM) manages discount and wellness services for employers, health plans, associations and large organizations.
