Butterfield & Son Limited (“Butterfield”), held an open promotion for its MasterCard cardholders on the Island to win a Priceless trip experience to one of the most anticipated qualifying football tournaments - the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League.

The lucky winner of the experience, Bermuda Football Association, Warwick Academy Under-8 Coach, Mark Twite, received an all-expense paid summer trip to Lisbon, Portugal to watch leading UEFA teams, Real Madrid and Atletico, battle it out this past May for the UEFA Cup Title.

“When I got the call from Butterfield telling me that I had won the promotion, I couldn’t believe it; I thought it was a prank by one of my friends. But after a few hours and a few phone calls to cross-check, it sunk in – I HAD WON!” expressed a still jubilant Mr. Twite.

The Priceless UEFA Experience included round-trip airfare for two, 5 days/4 nights at a five star hotel in Lisbon, a city experience tour, tickets to the UEFA Finals match and a pre-match hospitality reception as well as a Priceless Moment with a football legend.

The Butterfield MasterCard UEFA Champions League promotion began on 3 February 2014 and ran through 4 April 2014.  Any person over the age of 18 that used their Butterfield / AAdvantage® Black, Platinum or Gold MasterCard® between those dates was automatically entered to win the MasterCard Priceless Experience.

Mr. Twite, now back in Bermuda, stated that he was excited when he was told he had won the promotion but the experience while in Portugal far exceeded his expectations. From the moment that he and his wife, Liz, landed in Portugal to the moment that they left, every detail of the couple’s trip was catered to by an on-call MasterCard concierge.  Not only was the couple able to attend the coveted UEFA Champions League Finals match, they also got to enjoy the sites in Portugal, dine at various restaurants and take in some shopping.
