Effective immediately Whig party of Georgia will no longer be affiliated with the Modern Whig Party

ATLANTA - July 9, 2014 - PRLog -- The Whig Party of Georgia will not stand with any party that keeps information from its membership as well as the public. The original Modern Whig Party was dedicated to open and honest communication with the public. The Whig Party of Georgia will not become like so many others having secret meetings and policy votes that are completely contrary to the Charter and Bylaws they are to uphold.

The Whig Party was promoting open and honest communications with the American people and the membership. In the Charter of the Modern Whig Party it states: "pledge to go forth with integrity, open mindedness, pragmatism, and transparency as we pursue our civic duty."

Georgia Whigs believe it is critical for citizens to re-engage in civic affairs with new tools and a different mindset. Citizens' over reliance on political parties as their proxy in government has in large part caused the mess we're in. (as predicted by our first Commander-in-Chief, General George Washington)

Georgia Whigs believe that focusing on the processes of governance and refocusing political participation in America is the ONLY proper long term solution to enable truly effective public policy and better governance, allowing the promise of America to be realized by the many, rather than the few.
