NaijaPrizes promotes creative thinking

ISLINGTON, U.K. - July 9, 2014 - PRLog -- At NaijaPrizes we are great believer in creative thinking; almost all ideas are made from some level of creative thinking. Creative thinking helps us form new ways in which we can give out more prizes to our community of members. It is also very important for our community of members to have a decent or greater level of creative thinking. Our member’s feedback is very important to us; we would prefer creative feedback in which we can make the overall experience at NaijaPrizes better for our community of users. This could in turn have a network effect and maybe a culture of creative thinking could spread in communities across Nigeria. Creative thinking can solve all problems, because it finds a unique way to solve a problem at hand, a solution that is more efficient, different and better than previous solutions that have been tried.

In the search for ways to show how to be a creative thinker, we keyed in on finding a simple but yet effective guide. We found the perfect one, A short comic by Grant Snider titled “Creative Thinking “. The images are not needed, just the words. In this comic there are seven features of creative thinking, these are inspiration, ambition, focus, self-esteem, originality, experience, and persistence. These features do not have to be followed in any particular order, because to be a creative thinker, all of these features will most likely be utilized at the same time.

Inspiration is very important, and it’s vital you have the ability to find inspiration from a wide variety of subjects. Inspiration can be applied from different fields. If one is working on music, inspiration can be found from viewing art. Inspiration does not have to be found from the same field work you are creating in. With this, the Idea will surely be unique. Ambition is a strong desire to achieve or do something, this is very connected to focus as they both require one to stay focused on their goal and have the ability to work extremely hard to reach that goal. With strong ambition, overcoming obstacles in the process of creating something will be fairly easy. Self-Esteem is basically a judgement of oneself. If one has low self-esteem, every idea they think of will be judged as not good enough. It is impossible to be creative with low self-esteem. It is very possible that others will not believe in your idea, so it’s vital that one believes in the ideas they come up with for it to survive. In other to be creative thinker your idea has to be original, this is probably the most obvious feature of being a creative thinker. Experience is key, because failure is just a process in reaching a goal. When one fails, it is a learning experience in which the next time one will be ready to face or even avoid a similar problem. Finally one has to be persistent, persistent in your hard work, ambition, focus. When one comes up with an idea, jot it down and thinks of another one, sooner or later coming up with creative ideas becomes a norm for you.
