Automatic alerts to business opportunities in the Caribbean and Central American regions

Canadian-based Electronic Opportunities Distribution Firm Establishes Portal to Business Opportunities in Caribbean and Central American BIDS Caribbean helping businesses tap new emerging export markets as a result of new trade agreements and identify local bidding partners

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The Caribbean may soon be viewed as far more than a dream vacation destination. That’s the goal of Hart North, President of BIDS Tendering Publications, a pioneer in the tendering distribution sector. North officially launched his latest expansion BIDS Caribbean - the first in an anticipated series of business service expansions - at the Wu Conference Centre in Fredericton on Thursday, June 26th. To introduce the service, BIDS is offering a 30-day free trial period.

North says services likes BIDS and BIDS Caribbean are essential in today’s global economy: “Businesses that are growing and thriving have, for the most part, developed export markets. By expanding our opportunities distribution service, we can help ease the way for businesses seeking to enter new markets, particularly where the economic landscape is changing and new opportunities are emerging. The Caribbean and Central American region are primed for new business as a result of new trade agreements with the region.” Other factors are also having a positive effect on economies in the region. North pointed to Mexico as just one example of how a growing middle class is transforming the economy, creating a more robust business sector and significant infrastructure demands.

Current subscribers to BIDS receive automatic alerts daily to opportunities matched to their indicated business interests as well as detailed documents when interested in pursuing the opportunity.

While BIDS Caribbean will help lower barriers for Canadian companies looking to do business in the region, North says it is also likely to result in Caribbean and Central American companies, governments and organizations reaching out to North American suppliers: “Right now, companies in the region either dedicate enormous time searching for qualified leads or rely on luck. Both suppliers and vendors in the region will be quick to recognize the cost and time advantages of a central repository for both public and private sector opportunities,” says North. As well, governments and organizations in the region understand the competitive advantages of expanding their supplier network, says North: “It’s a two-way street so it’s imperative the New Brunswick companies and indeed companies across Canada get in the game early.”

Businesses tend to face significant challenges when entering new markets, said North. That’s resulted in BIDS developing added value services as part of the BIDS Caribbean suite of services: “In addition to our web-based opportunities portal, and automated opportunities notification, BIDS Caribbean will also offer a new Find a Bidding Partner service for companies looking to identify bidding partners and establish longer term business relationships in the region. “In a global economy, it’s often through partnerships and business relationships that companies expand their market reach and are able to establish a more sustainable footprint in the region.”

I’m also amazed at the simplicity of the system and I encourage all New Brunswick businesses to try it out and sign up for the free trial.”
