GRAVETTE, Ark. - July 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The 2013 Challenger Dream Giveaway, a nationwide drawing sponsored by New Beginning Children’s Homes, came to an end on May 31, 2014. 66 year-old Eugene Gillespie from Tennessee was named the grand-prize winner.

Mr. Gillespie won both a 1971 426 Hemi Challenger and a matching 2013 426 Hemi Challenger that was signed by key Chrysler executives involved in the build of this one-of-a-kind supercar. In addition, he received cash to help pay the prize taxes!

Mr. Gillespie convinced his wife to enter the giveaway on April 28, 2014, by making a $50 donation. They were stunned when they received the winning phone call, “We couldn’t believe we had won,” Mr. Gillespie said. “This is one  of the most exciting things that has ever happened to us and we are thrilled to be in the Dream Giveaway family of winners.”

Mr. Gillespie, a former U.S. Marine, has been confined to a wheel chair for the past 32 years as the result of a serious injury. That hasn’t stopped him from living an extraordinary life. Among other things, Mr. Gillespie has been a member on the local city parks and recreation advisory board since 1991 and is a member and past chair of his hometown Athletic Club Board of Directors.

It wasn’t until Mr. Gillespie saw an ad on TV for the 2013 Challenger Dream Giveaway that he decided to enter, “We have donated to several different charities over the years and we enjoy giving back,” Mr. Gillespie said. “We will be telling everyone we know about Dream Giveaway Promotions and the good work they do.”

Mrs. Gillespie accepted the prize on both of their behalfs on June 24, 2014 at Alternative Automotive Technologies in Detroit, Michigan. As excited as they were to be named the winners of the giveaway, they didn’t forget the causes their donation supported, “The reason we entered was because we wanted to make a donation to help the charities.” Mr. Gillespie said. “The Lord has been good to us.”
