Greensburg, Pa Jiu-Jitsu Competitor Earns Spot In Five Grappling Nationals

Westmoreland County Pennsylvania based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school will be preparing one of its students for the Five Grappling Nationals set for November in Miami, Florida.

GREENSBURG, Pa. - July 3, 2014 - PRLog -- On June 28th, 2014 Pennsylvania Combat Sports (http://www.pacombatsports.com/) had its first representative competing in the new (and highly regarded) Five Grappling (http://www.fivegrappling.com/) tournament circuit.

With events held from coast to coast in the United States and Canada, this upcoming BJJ and No-Gi competition event is bringing in some of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in North America, all with the goal of qualifying for the US Nationals being held in Miami this November.

Entering the BJJ Blue belt division at the Five Grappling Illinois 1 Tournament, Johnny Boswell had a plan set from the very start. He would impose his open guard and sweep game to secure top position or back control, then set in the submission.

Its a strategy that he has refined through hours of drilling and training at Pa Combat Sports, with other members of the Greensburg, Pennsylvania based Martial Arts Competition Team. In addition, Johnny has gotten expert guidance from Professor Vicente Junior, 3rd degree BJJ Black Belt, and a master of the open guard game in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.

At the Illinois 1 Five Grappling event, Boswell was able to sweep his Blue belt division in a dominating performance that allowed no points to be scored against him, and several submission finishes to his credit.

Great results for a competitor who has only been a Blue belt for just over 6 months…with no prior wrestling or martial arts training!

With the Gold medal secured, he was also able to lock down his spot in the US Nationals being held in Miami, Florida this November. All Five Grappling Open events are qualifiers for the Nationals, with only 1st through 3rd place finishers becoming eligible for the year end tournament.

We’re looking forward to seeing how his Nationals performance will play out in November, but until then, it’s business as usual on the mats at Pa Combat Sports.
